They're Hitched: Meet Hitched Couple Ryan + Kristina
Intimate September Wedding, Washington D.C.
Hitched couple, Ryan and Kristina, had a small, intimate ceremony in Washington D.C. in September 2020. Ryan chose our Tungsten Classic Brushed 6mm wedding band in Natural for this ring (such a classic).Â
We sat down with adorable newlyweds to discuss their wedding day! Hear everything they have to say about their love story, planning their wedding, their experience with Hitched below.
Q: Tell us the story of how you two met!
A: We met at an event where Kristina was the catering manager and Ryan was the photographer. Kristina will tell you that Ryan pursued her the whole night, but the truth is she was doing everything in her power to get him to ask her out, including ‘pulling linens’ right by his gear while he was on his way out. Ryan asked her to dinner, but settled for a phone number so he could continue to woe her over the following months. Kristina finally came around and started their journey to the ring.Â
Q: How did the proposal go?
A: A trip to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania was the scene for our union. Ryan was nervous as he guided Kristina to a gazebo on the lake and she knew exactly what was happening once she started hearing the clicks of the photographer’s camera, who popped out of the bushes. Ryan recited a little poem and sealed the deal with a kiss.Â
Q: Kristina, when did you know that Ryan was the one you wanted to marry?
A: I knew Ryan was the one I wanted to marry since the beginning of our relationship, but I was hesitant to let him in. There’s one memory I have from early on where he told me that all he wanted was to make me feel special. He lived up to that promise time and time again, which made me feel like I could let down my guard and be my true self with him.
Q: Ryan, when did you know that Kristina was the one you wanted to marry?
A: Kristina is the most genuine person I’ve ever met. We talked openly about how our relationship was evolving and discussed what we both wanted. She was clear with me about her desire to get married and I knew that there was no one else I wanted to spend my life with.
Q: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A: We had to postpone our wedding celebration due to the pandemic, but that didn’t stop us from proceeding with our marriage. We got married on our original date with five of our closest guests at the DC War Memorial. Our favorite part about that day was the intimacy of that moment. Because the ceremony was small, we were able to focus on the true meaning of our commitment to each other, surrounded by those closest to us.
Q: What did you enjoy the most and least about planning your wedding?
A: Kristina is a wedding planner, so she really enjoyed the process of planning the event. Everything from choosing vendors, to decor and wedding gifts was exciting. On the flip side, the most challenging part of our wedding planning process has been the uncertainty of the pandemic, which caused us to postpone our celebration.Â
Q: Now that you are married, what piece of advice would you give to newlyweds?
A: Communication is everything. No obstacle is too large to overcome when you two are communicating well. Oh and don’t forget to keep having fun! Keep dating each other and getting to know one another, each and every day.Â
Why Hitched For Your Men's Wedding Band?
Q: Lastly, What made you choose Hitched for your wedding band?
A: Hitched made it really easy to find a band. They mailed us samples of bands to help find the right style and fit. Their customer support has been extremely responsive and we couldn’t be happier with the result!
Congratulations on officially gettin' hitched, Kristina + Ryan! We couldn't be happier for you two.
