What is the Most Popular Wedding Band Width?

Our most popular men's wedding band millimeter width is 5mm, and our most popular women's wedding band millimeter width is 2mm. On average, these sizes tend to complement the majority of finger sizes and look flattering against other jewelry.

What is comfort fit vs. standard fit?

The 'fit' of the band is actually referring to the inner profile of your ring and the way it's cut out. A comfort fit has a rounded inner profile, meaning it complements the natural curve of your finger and is more comfortable for everyday wear. A standard fit has a flat profile, and without curvature can sometimes cause discomfort during everyday wear for some individuals. All of Hitched's wedding bands are comfort fit to ensure an enjoyable fit.

frequently asked questions

Yes. As a general rule, the thicker the millimeter width is of your wedding band, the tighter the band will be on your finger. If you're selecting a thicker wedding band, between 6-8mm, we typically recommend sizing up .25 - .5 sizes if you're unable to come in person to have your finger professionally sized.

This is a very common question we see with clients, and probably why the majority of people choose a 5mm band. For some, the 4mm feels too thin and the 6mm too thick, so many individuals find that 5mm is the sweet spot.

We find that for individuals with larger hands, they typically choose a wedding band between 6mm - 8mm, which usually feels most proportionate to their hand size.

For clients with smaller hands, we typically see them choose a wedding band between 1.5mm - 4mm. These widths are a bit daintier and typically feel proportionate to a smaller hand size.

The best part is that there are no rules for your wedding band! We find that most clients match their wedding band to the same width as their engagement ring. However, you could also explore a contour wedding band, chunkier gold band, or thicker diamond band if you prefer some contrast between the two rings.
