We only work with certified diamonds from reputable sources. All of our mined diamonds are conflict-free and graded by GIA, while all of our lab diamonds are responsibly sourced and graded by IGI. Learn more about the differences between the two grading houses.
Lab-Grown Diamonds
International Gemological Institute (IGI)
IGI is based in Antwerp Belgium and was the first grading company to ever grade lab grown diamonds. IGI also has a ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from the International Organization for Standards for both their mined and lab-grown diamond grading, showcasing their accuracy and efficiency in laboratory standards. Diamonds with an IGI grading tend to be price competitive, allowing customers to maximize their budget with still receiving a certified lab diamond. Furthermore, all of Hitched's IGI graded lab-grown diamonds are hand selected by our diamond experts to ensure only eye-clean diamonds are available to you in the most ideal cuts, colors and ratios.
Established in 1931, GIA is a U.S. based grading house and the company who invented the diamond grading system. Because of their longstanding history and outstanding reputation for stringent quality standards in grading mined diamonds, some consider them to be the most prestigious institution for all diamond grading, including lab-grown diamonds. And while GIA is relatively new to grading lab-grown diamonds, their lab-grown graded diamonds tend to have a premium cost to them, hence the higher price tag.
