During our appointments here at Hitched, many clients ask us when they should be coming in to purchase their wedding bands. Some couples come a whole year in advance from their wedding date, while others come two weeks before. So, is there a sweet spot?
We Recommend To Buy Rings 6 Months Before Your Wedding
We recommend clients come in six months before their wedding to look at and purchase wedding bands. Typical turnaround times for bands can be upwards of 60-90 days, so building in extra time allows you some flexibility for making a decision and playing it safe with any possible production delays during busy seasons. Additionally, if you end up preferring a custom band, that can increase the project timeline because of the required 3D CAD design. Ultimately, we recommend giving yourself as much time as possible so that you don’t have to rush in your decision making process.
How Much Should You Budget For Your Wedding Bands?
Another common question we receive is how much clients should plan to budget for their wedding bands. We know that weddings are expensive, so we try to keep our bands as price competitive as possible. It’s important to note that precious metals (think Gold and Platinum) are traded as commodities and therefore fluctuate in the market. In 2025, both the price of Gold and Platinum skyrocketed, and as a result, fine jewelry pricing has been impacted industry wide. As a general rule, 10K and 14K Gold rings remain the most affordable options, while 18K Gold and Platinum are the most expensive. A healthy wedding band budget (per band) is anywhere from $300 - $1,500 depending on the metals you prefer, and if you want diamonds incorporated in your band.
