The City That Started it All
For Hitched co-founders, Chris and Stephanie Sammons, Charleston is a very special and meaningful place. While dating long-distance between Philadelphia and St. Petersburg early in their relationship, Charleston was the first city Chris and Steph visited together as a couple.
Chris planned an entire ‘Notebook’ day, taking Stephanie to Cypress Gardens, Boone Hall Farms, and other popular spots from the film. Three years later, they tied the knot in Charleston. In the 10 years since, Chris and Steph have returned to Charleston many times to celebrate various personal and business milestones.
Hitched was born out of personal experience. When Chris was shopping for his wedding band, he found the process lackluster: there were very limited options in his ring size, so ultimately he placed his order out of a catalog. Due to a mishap by the jeweler, his ring was delivered to their hotel room at The Restoration the day before their wedding. For such a meaningful item, they felt that the experience should match in importance - and just like that, Hitched was born.
In 2018, Hitched first launched, fully focused on men’s wedding bands with a home try-on model. Since then, the company has expanded dramatically into a full-service jeweler, offering signature and custom engagement rings, women’s wedding bands, and all kinds of fine jewelry.
As first generation jewelers, Chris and Stephanie have grown the company side-by-side with a commitment to one another, and a clear vision for modernizing the jewelry industry. The opening of Hitched Charleston will truly be a full circle moment: celebrating 10 years of marriage by opening a fourth showroom in the city that holds a special place in their hearts.
What Can You Expect to See at Hitched Charleston?
Jewelry at Hitched Charleston will include custom engagement rings, signature engagement rings, and ready-to-purchase engagement rings. You can also expect to see a variety of loose diamonds and gemstones as well as made-to-order men’s and women’s wedding bands. Hitched also brings to Charleston a thoughtfully curated collection of fine bridal jewelry, including pearl pieces, diamond studs, tennis bracelets, and more.
Hitched will be appointment-only to ensure you have personalized 1:1 time with your dedicated sales associate. We offer a variety of appointment types that range from complimentary appointments to detailed paid-for design and stone consultations, all with a side of bubbly.
Hitched also specializes in Heirloom Redesign, where you can bring in a cherished family heirloom stone to be reset into a new piece of jewelry for your engagement, wedding day, or for any other special occasion. What Can You Expect During an Appointment at Hitched Charleston?
Appointments at Hitched are designed to be personalized, meaningful, and hands on. They’ll range in duration from 30 minutes to one hour and include complimentary water, tea, coffee, and prosecco. For our complimentary Signature Engagement ring appointment, you can expect education on the 4Cs of diamonds, a walk-through of the different engagement ring setting options in our Signature Collection, and more. Booking our personalized Specialty Consultation option will give you the opportunity to view specific stones, including natural diamonds, sapphires and other specialty gemstones for your initial consultation. With a small deposit, the experience will be tailored to you, make the most of your time, and allow us to show you the breadth of capabilities we have. We have truly done it all, and we always love a challenge!
For wedding band appointments, Hitched offers a unique bistro-esque experience. You and your partner will be seated at a bistro table where you will have the time and privacy to try on any and all wedding bands from the Hitched collection, and the ability to ask questions with your dedicated sales associate. The wedding band experience is where it all started with Hitched, so we really strive to create a special and enjoyable experience for our engaged couples.

The Capabilities
At Hitched, we have extensive capabilities in regard to custom design, stone sourcing, and heirloom redesign. As a general rule of thumb, if it’s durable, follows our quality standards, and can be imagined, then chances are that we can bring it to life!
We offer a wide range of gemstones including lab-grown and natural diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, alexandrites, and more. We will only show clients stones that fit our stringent standards of quality which helps ensure you can feel peace of mind when purchasing such important milestone jewelry pieces.
Our settings are each first designed in CAD and then cast, set, and polished. No two Hitched settings are exactly alike - every setting is carefully crafted for each individual stone to ensure a snug fit and long-lasting piece.
The Quality & In-House Craftsmanship
Not only do our stones go through an extensive vetting process, our settings do as well. Multiple team members look at your finished piece during our QA process to ensure it was properly crafted and is achieving your desired vision.
