Elegant, edgy, modern, or traditional? Your style is your own and your wedding band should reflect that. The Hitched collection of gold and platinum wedding bands are more than meets the eye. In fact, they are fully customizable to suit every grooms’ unique taste. Use this quick guide and see just how easy it is to design a custom wedding ring that you’ll love for years to come.
Step 1) Choose Your Wedding Band Color and Metal
The first thing you need to determine when customizing your precious metal wedding band is whether you would like 14K Gold or Platinum. If you would like a wedding band that is yellow or rose is color, the choice is obvious – 14K gold is the way to go! However, if you would like a band that is silver in color, you may want to consider platinum in addition to the obvious choice of white gold. There are some things to consider when choosing between the two.
White Gold versus Platinum
The natural color of gold is yellow, and white gold is created by allowing natural yellow gold with other, silvery metals such as nickel. As a result, white gold is not fully hypoallergenic. Not concerned about a metal allergy? You should also know that because white gold is really yellow gold that has been modified, it is a bit higher maintenance and will need to be “re-dipped” every now and again to maintain the white luster of white gold. Doesn’t sound practical for you? Platinum is a great option! Not only is it naturally silver/grey in color, but it is 100% hypoallergenic. However, platinum does come at a premium and is a little less scratch-proof than 14K gold (though gold scratches, too).
Step 2) Choose Your Wedding Band Profile
Now that the hard part is over, the fun begins! With Hitched, you’ll have four different wedding band profiles to choose between. First up is a classic, half-round profile and is about as simple as it gets. You really can’t go wrong with a classic gold or platinum wedding band, which is what makes it our most popular profile. Looking for something with a little more flare? Great, we have options.
I want something traditional, but not so plain.
If you want a profile that will stand the test of time but isn’t just your average wedding band, our milgrain profile may be just what you are looking for. Milgrain detailing is a close-set row of metal beads that, in the case of our men’s wedding bands, are used as a border on both edges of the ring. This subtle detailing is enough to turn your wedding band into a beautiful heirloom piece you’ll want to pass down for generations to come.
Sounds nice, but I’m looking for something a little more modern.
If you want a profile that is a little more trendy, we have two great options for you. The first is our flat profile. Our flat wedding bands are sleek and modern without being too bold. Because of its versatile look, the flat profile is one of our most popular. The last option is our knife edge wedding band. With its triangular profile, it is an ultra-modern choice and perfect for the fashion-forward groom. No matte what profile you choose, all Hitched wedding bands come standard in a comfort-fit, meaning they are curved slightly on the interior to prevent pinching for an extremely comfortable wear.
Step 3) Choose Your Wedding Band Width
No man’s hand is shaped alike! Your custom wedding band is available for purchase on our website in either 4mm or 6mm widths to compliment the size of your hand, your lifestyle, and how you would like the ring to feel. Step 4) Choose Your Wedding Band Finish
Smooth and sleek or rugged and complex? Hitched custom gold wedding bands and personalized platinum wedding rings come in a variety of attractive finishes, including matte, brushed, scratched, hammered, and brushed hammer. The obvious and most popular option is the polished finish, which is the standard finish for all Hitched men’s wedding bands. For a muted presentation, you can customize your wedding band with a matte finish, while a brushed wedding band finish offers understated sophistication in its non-reflective nature.
A scratched wedding band finish is similar to brushed however, the pattern goes one step further, with the lines crossing over each other for a unique and contemporary look. Lastly, hammered wedding bands make a punchy and modern statement for any groom. The ring is hammered only on the outside, leaving the inner ring smooth for easy daily wear. Step 5) Personalize Your Wedding Band With Engraving
Make your wedding band truly unique and symbolic of your marriage with custom engraving inside or outside your ring. Engrave your wedding date or a favorite quote that is meaningful to you and your bride or groom to-be.
