Step 1) Choose Your Wedding Band Color and Metal

The first thing you need to determine when customizing your precious metal wedding band is whether you would like 14K Gold or Platinum. If you would like a wedding band that is yellow or rose is color, the choice is obvious – 14K gold is the way to go! However, if you would like a band that is silver in color, you may want to consider platinum in addition to the obvious choice of white gold. There are some things to consider when choosing between the two.

White Gold versus Platinum

The natural color of gold is yellow, and white gold is created by allowing natural yellow gold with other, silvery metals such as nickel. As a result, white gold is not fully hypoallergenic. Not concerned about a metal allergy? You should also know that because white gold is really yellow gold that has been modified, it is a bit higher maintenance and will need to be “re-dipped” every now and again to maintain the white luster of white gold. Doesn’t sound practical for you? Platinum is a great option! Not only is it naturally silver/grey in color, but it is 100% hypoallergenic. However, platinum does come at a premium and is a little less scratch-proof than 14K gold (though gold scratches, too).

Milgrain detailing is a close-set row of metal beads that, in the case of our men’s wedding bands, are used as a border on both edges of the ring. This subtle detailing is enough to turn your wedding band into a beautiful heirloom piece you’ll want to pass down for generations to come.

Smooth and sleek or rugged and complex? Hitched custom gold wedding bands and personalized platinum wedding rings come in a variety of attractive finishes, including matte, brushed, scratched, hammered, and brushed hammer. The obvious and most popular option is the polished finish, which is the standard finish for all Hitched men’s wedding bands. For a muted presentation, you can customize your wedding band with a matte finish, while a brushed wedding band finish offers understated sophistication in its non-reflective nature.

A scratched wedding band finish is similar to brushed however, the pattern goes one step further, with the lines crossing over each other for a unique and contemporary look. Lastly, hammered wedding bands make a punchy and modern statement for any groom.
